His enthusiasm and positive energy is undeniable, which is conveyed in his music. Also, because FOCUS is so diverse as an artist, he is able to compliment a wide range of rappers, singers, and DJ’s different styles. He wants to be able to touch every generation with his music, from the young listeners on up through the old and leave an imprint on hip-hop as well as become a household name. FOCUS has many favorite artists including Jadakiss, Fabolous, Ludacris, TI, Jeezy, Kanye West, Busta Rymes, Red Café, Styles P, Sheek, Drake, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz, 50 cent, Cory Gunz, Clipse, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli Kid Cudi, Swizz Beats, Beanie Sigel, Lupe Fiasco, and Saigon. One thing that FOCUS wants to see change within the hip hop community is more support and togetherness between artists and DJs. He feels that this need for everyone to be “the king of NY” is tearing people apart and turning artists against each other. He feels that musicians should instead support one another and help them to grow for the good of the music industry itself. One thing he wants his fans to know is that everything FOCUS writes about is based on his real-life experiences. His music is a glimpse into his reality which he wants to share with his fans. His goal is for his music to make his audience FEEL – whether it be laugh, cry, dance, think or love. The most common goal of all entertainers – to take complex thoughts and feelings and morph that into something more simple – such as a meaningful song.
Focus’s debut mixtape titled Against All Odd’s is out now on thatcrack.com datpiff.com – and he is ready to take the industry by storm.
