Steph was born December 19, 1988 in Rockville, MD to a young mother and father. With the divorce of his parents Steph's early years were filled with traveling back and forth between homes. He spent the majority of his time at the home of his relatives since his mother was working day and night shifts to support her family on her own. This became the fuel that drove Steph's passion for music. "I remember seeing my mom work non stop and struggle to support us.So one day I promised she a never have to lift a finger when I get bigger". He didn't really start to dive into music until his senior year in high school. A few of his friends use to record and invited him to come and kick some freestyles."I really had no clue what I was doing but when I started spittoon I heard them hyping it up so I figured I must of been doing something right". He then began to come more frequent and started to record his own tracks. His stage name comes from one of his childhood friends whom past away. "He was the whole reason I started this in the first place like I was just on some for fun mode, but Castro gave me the motivation to make this my life". So the name is in his honor so wherever Steph goes his friend Castro will be there with him. When it comes to his style of music and influences Steph is adamant on sticking to being himself. "All I  know is my life and the things I've experienced and matter to me and thats what I bring to all my music". When it comes to what influences the type of artistry he displays the diverse area he lives in plays a major part. He was exposed to many different genres and lifestyles and they blend together perfectly in his music. Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams seem to be to artist that he gives a lot of credit to for inspiration. His plans are simple short term goal is get a major label behind him, and long term is be a billionaire. Not really interested in the hip-hop politics though. In a track reminiscent to Common's "I used to love her" Steph states "I  never wanted to be the reason for your relishing i just wanted to be relevant". He really just wants to make his music and become the best artist he can be. All the extra fame and crowns and titles are amusing to him. Just wants to make a living doing music and other business ventures he has.
