Classic Mixtape Run: Lil Wayne - The Prefix

Look what we found! The mixtape that started it all. The Prefix! Released in 2004 and considered a non-official but highly significant mixtape due to its low recording and mixing quality. This gem was very unpolished and not really recognized but it played its part as a warm-up for his classic, Tha Carter album. Which was the first installment of 6 to an iconic run of albums by the same name. Lil Wayne decided to only rap on his idol Jay-Z beats as a homage to Hov, who announced his "retirement" after dropping the Black Album. This was truly the beginning of the "Mixtape Weezy" persona way before Da Drought and Dedication series that we all have grown to love from Wayne. Featuring P-Town Moe on "Where I'm From" and Real on "Make You Mine" and "Tomorrow" this is some mixtape nostalgia you probably almost forgot about.  With our new series, Class Mixtape Run, we are here to bring that feel back like it was 2004 all over again! We searched the internet for an hour and found a good quality version on behalf of Audio Mack. Take a listen below!
